Annual Parish Meeting 26 May 7pm
Annual Assembly of the Parish Meeting for Horham and Athelington to be held Tuesday 26 May 2026 commencing 7pm at the Community Centre - all welcome
Published: 18 May 2026
This is your opportunity to meet other parishioners and local councillors and to raise matters of current concern or future ambitions for the Parish.
What is the purpose of the Annual Parish Meeting?
The purpose of the meeting is to enable the Parish Council and other local organisations to inform local residents about what they have been doing over the past year. It is also an opportunity for electors to have a say on anything they consider valuable to the people of the Parish.
What else happens at the meeting?
The meeting also offers local groups, clubs, societies, and other voluntary and statutory organisations an opportunity to address those present about their activities and events, and what they are involved in within the Parish.
Who can attend the meeting?
The Annual Parish Meeting is for all electors of the Parish. It is not a meeting of the Parish Council. Anyone is welcome to attend, although only registered electors of the parish may speak or vote during the meeting.
Will I be able to ask questions and make suggestions?
Any registered elector may ask a question, which will usually be answered by the Chair or a designated Councillor. Electors may also make suggestions and comment on anything pertinent to residents of the Parish. This will be welcomed and is the whole purpose of the meeting.
Are you a member of a local group, club, society or charity?
Representatives of local groups, clubs, societies and charities are invited to join us to let local residents know about what you do within the Parish.
